Three of the Member Clubs are located outside Calgary in Airdrie, Strathmore, and Nanton. C&D is governed by a Board of Directors composed of representative couples from each Member Club, Calgary Callers Association, as well as appointees.

The Purposes of C&D are to:
1. promote and enhance Square Dancing, Round Dancing, and Clogging in Calgary and District,
2. co-ordinate C&D Clubs' activities (e.g. Scheduling for Club Theme Dances),
3. encourage and promote communication and cooperation between all Clubs and Associations,
Other Benefits of C&D to the Clubs:
1. publishing a Newsletter (The Grapevine), 4 issues/year,
2. maintaining an Information line; available at 403-239-0177,
3. sponsoring combined dance activities in the District (e.g. New Dancer Round-Up, New Dancer Jamboree, Freshman's Frolic, etc.) and co-ordinating Demonstration Dances,
4. sponsoring special dances/events to enrich the dancers' experience. This not only includes bringing in callers/cuers for local, yearly dances; but, also hosting provincial and national dancing conventions,
5. spearheading a co-ordinated advertising campaign,
6. establishing and maintaining this Website, and,
7. co-ordinating casinos to raise funds (every other year) for Member Clubs and C&D functions.
