BIG HILL COUNTRY DANCERS
PRESIDENT'S REPORT - EXTRACT
It is with mixed emotions that we reflected on Big Hill Country Dancers at the A.G.M. held Tuesday evening, April 29th, 2008 Eight couples and two singles attended. After much discussion and review of the number of people who would be able to commit to dancing in the fall, it became obvious to all that the club could not continue to be active in the dance community. A nearly unanimous vote to disband the club resulted. As of today this process has already begun.
With the Club disbanding, we have several items to get rid of: pins, picture albums, club minutes, reports, many yards of fabric (our club colors), etc. Are there any of these items that C.D. or other clubs would be interested in?
The club membership decided to have a windup function for the past and present members. If there are any remaining funds left, they would be given to C.D. with the understanding that they would provide this amount for start up costs should BHCD form a club again (i.e five years down the road).
Thank you all for your support in the past. Many of our members will probably be dancing at your clubs in Calgary.
A little history, Big Hill Country Dancers registered the club with the Alberta Society July 19th 1977. It has been a "good run".
Respectfully Submitted
