Profile
Ted & Myrna Kornak
We started dancing with the Dots & Dashers in 1977 and have been members until present.
We have served on their executive since 1978 and remain on it until the present time. We began
representing our club on C & D in 1980 and have served on the executive continuously, two years
as president couple. In 1983 we became editors of the Grapevine and published it until our retirement
in 2007.
Myrna was a teacher for several years in Calgary and retired to raise our family of five. Ted
also was a teacher and spent 33 years in the profession. We also began a printing company in the
same year we started dancing. The company still remains in our family.
We both started calling with Dennis Levitt's callers class in 2005 and continued with Lorne
Smith's classes in /06 and /07. To date Ted has been visiting schools in Calgary and teaching square
dancing to the students.
Ted's objective is mainly to promote square dancing and invites schools, church groups,
youth groups, senior organizations etc. to invite him to spend an evening or a series of sessions to
explore the pleasures of modern square dancing.
