The 39th Alberta Square and Round Dance Convention was held in Strathmore on the Labour day Weekend, with 396 dancers registered and 66 day passes sold.We all had a lot of fun meeting old friends and making new ones. The Callers and Cuers were great and the NEW callers did a super job. Keep it up.....we have good replacements in our midst, to take some of the load off of our current hard working Callers. 250 of us took in the BBQ supper,which was enjoyed by all in spite of a shortage of dessert!. Who knew dancers could eat so much. There were lots of people from Strathmore who enjoyed being able to come in and watch.....the clogging especially caught some attention. John and I would like to once again say a big Thank You to our committee...........without you, this Convention would not have happened. Anne and John Godsman General Chair Couple
CONVENTION RAFFLE
Thanks to all who supported the 2007 ASRDF Convention in Strathmore by selling and/or purchasing raffle tickets. The net income approximated $1,800. Prize winners are: Garth Bertrand — Rosebud Dinner Theatre and B&B for two Dinah Millington — “Graceful Eagle” framed cross-stitch handcrafted by Pius Sauverwald Tom Dakers — “Garden Trellis” pattern quilt, hand sewn by Shirley Minty ** Pius (Helen) Sauverwald and Shirley (Jim) Minty are active members of the Wheatland Whirlers Square Dance Club in Strathmore.
