On Thursday August 1st, 2019 The University of Calgary Faculty of Arts is proud to present Oh the fun we’ve had square dancing, in partnership with Historic Calgary Week.
This event will feature a talk on the history of square dancing in Calgary with Dr. Barbara Schneider, PhD, and Dr. Liza McCoy, PhD. At the event we will be serving a pancake breakfast and after the talk we will be hosting a short square dancing lesson with Calgary’s very own Tom Dakers.
I am reaching out in hopes of finding 20 square dancers who would be interested in joining us at the event, free of charge, and participate in the square dancing lesson. As experienced square dancers, I am hoping you can provide some direction to the people joining us from across the Calgary community who have never tried square dancing.
Here are the details for the event:
Date & Time: Thursday August 1, 2019 | 7:30 – 9 a.m.
Location: UCalgary Downtown Campus, 906 8 Ave SW
