LINE DANCING is …
A synchronized group dance where individuals perform a repeated sequence of steps while arranged in lines, all facing the same direction. There is little to no physical contact between dancers. It is a social activity that can be enjoyed by people of different skill levels without the need for a partner.
MEET our LINE DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Murielle Clements, bringing 14 years of experience with line dancing. She dances with a group called KIC (Keeping It Country) who participated in the prelude to the Calgary Stampede Parade, and with a competitive group.
MODERN SQUARE DANCING is …
A multi-level dance program that evolved from the simpler form of traditional square dancing. Dancers form teams of eight random people, some who have a lot of dance experience, and some who have little to no experience. Music varies from country, rock, pop, show tunes, movie scores, salsa, blue grass, classical, and more.
The steps to learning how to square dance are simple:
- Each team of dancers form a square of eight people, two per side.
- The Caller (dance instructor) teaches the calls (dance steps) and puts them together to form a dance.
- The Caller calls out the calls, dancers dance the calls. When calls are missed or incorrectly done, attempts are made to ‘fix’ the square, ready for the next call. This leads to a lot of laughter and collaboration.
- Repeat Steps 1 to 3.
