A small town BC girl, Trish moved to the big city of Calgary in 2014 to be close to her daughter and grandchild. Her life as a square dancer began in a self taught group in the late 80’s when along with a friend they gathered more friends together in kitchens and basements to learn. Records and a booklet of calls and styling were the tools available as there was no caller or club within 4 hrs.  She added community dance soon after that and become a caller at the local bi-weekly family dances in the early 90’s.  Square and community dancing remained a central part of her life in BC.

In the fall of 2014 she found her tribe with Banff Trailers Square Dance Club in NW Calgary and Wheatland Whirlers in Strathmore. Trish has been dancing Mainstream since then and teaching The Nest Program with club beginners since spring of 2015.

Trish dances Mainstream and Plus locally and loves travelling to dance with other clubs in Alberta and beyond.

She served on Banff Trailers executive as secretary, president, and promotions chair, and on the Calgary and District Square and Round Dance Association as secretary and as a member of the promotion committee.

In June, 2024 she completed Caller School and is excited to be the caller for beginner dancers at Banff Trailers Square Dance Club.   She is available to call community dance for family gatherings/occasions and community events.

The journey continues!
