In September 2026, Callerlab (the International Association of Square Dance Callers) will introduce major changes to the Mainstream and Plus square dance programs. The information shown here is intended to assist local clubs in preparing for this change.

Mainstream Program 2026
This program currently includes 67 calls (48 in Basic and 29 in Mainstream). In 2026, this will be reduced to 50 calls which is similar, but not identical, to the current Social Square Dance (SSD) program.
Plus Program 2026
The Basic and Mainstream calls that are not included in the new Mainstream program will be moved to the Plus program, which will then include an anticipated total of 50 calls (currently 29). The final new Plus program has not yet been announced
